Number Challenge For Aussie Wezza

as seen on au.fourfourtwo.com

Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson has challenged James Wesolowski to prove his worth at the club after not allocating the young Australian a shirt number for this season.

The 21-year-old, who has spent most of Pearson's reign at Leicester either out on loan or on the sidelines injured, is out of favour with the Foxes boss despite having a contract at Walkers Stadium until 2011.

Wesolowski is not alone though, with fellow Foxes Levi Porter, DJ Campbell and Astrit Ajdarevic all overlooked for shirt numbers and on the fringes of the squad.

Pearson said, "The onus is on the players not in the list. If they progress and make it into the first-team, they will get a squad number."

It is believed Wesolowski, who had a successful loan stint at Dundee United in the Scottish Premier League last season, may look for a chance elsewhere.
