Stuttering Start Rankles Danny

Scottish-based Australian Danny Invincibile admits he’s frustrated by Kilmarnock’s slow start to the SPL season.

The 30-year-old forward, who was overlooked by Pim Verbeek for the latest Socceroos squad, scored his first goal of the season in Killie's 1-1 draw with Aberdeen on the weekend.

The result was Kilmarnock's third draw in a row and means they frustratingly haven't won in the league since the opening day of the season, leaving them sitting precariously in ninth position on the table.

The Australian is frustrated by Killie's woes and told the Daily Record: "We have played well in recent games and failed to finish them off.

"If you do it right, you are on a high for the next game and can get on a roll. If you don't, you get in a rut and it's frustrating."

Invincibile's low strike against Aberdeen on the weekend gave Kilmarnock the lead with barely 15 minutes remaining, before their opponents equalized late.

The former Marconi and Brisbane Strikers man admitted it was a worry: "We just shot ourselves in the foot again.

"I didn't think Aberdeen troubled us too much or that Mark (goalkeeper Mark Brown) had too many tough saves to make.

"We, on the other hand, had good chances and got ourselves into the lead. From that position, you really have to stay focused and go on to wrap up the game.

"We keep drawing and this was the perfect opportunity to win and break that sequence but we lost concentration."

After the international break, Kilmarnock will have the chance to grab that elusive second league victory when they travel to the capital to face Hibernian.
